Mem 2.0
More details on how to participate in the Alpha testing program for Mem 2.0, the new and improved version of Mem.
Before diving in, you’ll first want to understand a few things about the Alpha testing program:
By using the Mem 2.0 Alpha, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
The Alpha testing program makes Mem 2.0 available for free while we continue active development.
Paid plans will be introduced down the line—after Mem 2.0 exits its Alpha and Beta phases—and you’ll be able to export your notes anytime if you decide the paid plan isn’t the right fit for you.
Certain feature areas are still being developed and are not yet included in the Alpha. All capabilities and limitations are outlined below.
You’ll be asked to complete biweekly check-in surveys on your experience with Mem 2.0, to help us refine the product ahead of our public launch.
File a bug report
This sends an email to 2-dot-0-alpha-support@mem.ai with the subject line: “Mem 2.0 Alpha Bug Report”. Please include a description of the bug, steps to reproduce it, what platform you’re using (web app, Mac desktop app, or iOS TestFlight app), what device you’re using, the email associated with your Mem account, and a screen recording of the bug, if necessary.
Submit feedback
This sends an email to 2-dot-0-alpha-support@mem.ai with the subject line: “Mem 2.0 Alpha Feedback”.
We currently support Mem 2.0 on web, Mac desktop, and iOS. Mobile web is not officially supported. The Windows app is coming soon, and an Android app is on the future roadmap.
There is no live syncing, connection, or relationship between 1.0 and 2.0. This means no actions you take in 2.0 will affect your experience in 1.0, and vice versa.
You must initiate import of your notes from Mem 1.0 to 2.0. Your notes have not automatically been copied over.
You can (but should try to avoid) using both 1.0 and 2.0 websites simultaneously. They have different URLs, so you can have them both open at the same time. Keep in mind, though, that there is no live syncing between them, so we recommend you move all of your usage to 2.0 to avoid the confusion of having to remember which version you created a note in.
You can’t use both 1.0 and 2.0 simultaneously on Mem for iOS. This is because the app uses the same identifier as 1.0, so you have to first delete 1.0 in order to install the 2.0 app. Note that you can later on delete the 2.0 app and re-install 1.0 if you need.
Sharing is restricted only to other people in the 2.0 Alpha Testing group. In order to test sharing, please try sharing notes and collections within the Alpha testing cohort.
Groups are now shared collections and require all collaborators to be using Mem 2.0 Alpha.
Creating notes via the Mem API is not yet supported in Mem 2.0. We will share more news about the API once we exit the Alpha phase.
Integrations (such as Text to Mem, Email to Mem, Calendar, People, and Email) are not supported in Mem 2.0.
Several features — such as templates, image understanding, rich embeds, link sharing, and exports — are still in development and will be released to the Alpha on a rolling basis. Follow our blog for the latest updates.
Join the Alpha testing Slack discussion. If you’re not already a part of it, join our Mem community on Slack so you can take part in the ongoing discussions in the #2-dot-0-alpha public channel.
Login on the web and install the apps. We currently have support for Web, Mac, and iOS apps:
Log in on the Mem 2.0 Alpha web app with the email you used for Mem 1.0 and import your notes from Mem 1.0. To import, click on your profile photo in the left sidebar, click ‘Import from Mem 1.0’, and click the Import button.
Download the Mem 2.0 Alpha Mac desktop app. Right click the app in your downloads folder and click “Open”. Follow the instructions to log in on web.
Download the Mem 2.0 Alpha iOS app on TestFlight and delete the Mem 1.0 iOS app
